First Fridays China Adoption Journey was founded by Dan and Susan Chapman of Acworth, Georgia after the adoption of their daughter Mimi four years ago. Dan and Susan know first hand just how much love and support families need during and after the adoption process and what an incredible sense of community adopting a child from China creates.

The purpose of First Fridays is to bring together mentors and families who are in the process of adopting. The gatherings provide you with a fun place to connect, learn about China adoption preparation, find support, and have a good time throughout the entire adoption process. You will meet other like-minded people who are in the “waiting” period of the adoption process or who have already adopted. By attending the First Fridays gatherings, you and your family will grow and learn from other families who have already traveled the adoption journey.

FirstFridaysChina.com is an extension of this ministry where you can find information on the adoption process, China travel, agency resources, request prayer, and connect with and learn about other families and the children that have changed them forever.

Blessed Journey Mentoring Program

Blessed Journey is a mentoring program designed to lend assistance to families who are in the adoption process. Families are matched with a mentor who knows first hand what the China adoption experience is like. Your mentor will walk with you from the time you get your Log-In-Date through the time you travel and are united with your child.

You will be encouraged to complete and work through the Blessed Journey Handbook which is filled with invaluable insights and growth opportunities for you and your family while you are waiting. The goal of Blessed Journey Mentoring is to empower you and your family to be ready to receive your child, have a parenting strategy, and understand other issues which may come up with an adopted child before you travel to China.
